This wasn't occasional impatience or gentle frustration. This was the white-hot, where-did-this-come-from, I-don't-recognize-myself rage that hit when the baby wouldn't stop crying, when my partner said the wrong thing, when I was running on no sleep and no support and no one had told me this part was coming. I felt it. Then I felt the shame that followed it. Then I lay awake at night replaying it. Then I got up the next morning and did it all again. I did not tell anyone. Not my partner. Not my friends. Not my doctor. I Googled it in the dark like a confession.

I was exhausted, angry, anxious, and quietly ashamed that I couldn’t think my way out of it. I tried all the old advice: gratitude lists, mom groups, morning routines, “just rest when the baby rests.” None of it worked. This was a real, documented, physiological response to the impossible combination of sleep deprivation, hormonal upheaval, and complete identity disruption. It was not a character flaw. It was not evidence that I had made a mistake. It was my nervous system doing exactly what it was designed to do - under conditions it was never designed to sustain. Nobody told me that. So I had to find it myself.
I had the training. I understood the neuroscience. And I still could not see what was happening to me clearly enough to name it - because the shame was too loud.
That is the part that drives everything I build now. Not the rage itself. The silence around it. The fact that so many moms are carrying this completely alone, convinced they are the only one, convinced it means something terrible about who they are. It does not. The rage has a reason. It has a name. And once you understand what it actually is - neurologically, hormonally, structurally - the shame starts to lift. Not all at once. But enough to breathe.
I built The Postpartum Path because I could not find a space that explained what I was feeling. That helped me navigate the rage and shame. Everything here is built on the same framework I developed from my clinical training and my own experience - a framework that starts with understanding, moves through interruption, and arrives at something that actually feels like you again. Less rage. More you.
